Stromectol is an anthelmintic. it is used for treating infections caused by certain parasites.It works by killing sensitive parasites.
Dosage and directions
Use Stromectol as directed by your doctor.Take Stromectol by mouth on an empty stomach with water. Some patients who take Stromectol will need repeated follow-up and retreatment to make sure the infection is cleared up completely. Follow your doctor's instructions. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
How To Take Ivermectin ?
Use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, and do not use it for a longer time than your doctor ordered. To do so may increase the chance of side effects.
The dose of this medicine will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label. The following information includes only the average doses of this medicine. If your dose is different, do not change it unless your doctor tells you to do so.
For oral dosage form (tablets):
·        For river blindness:
Adults and children weighing 15 kilograms (kg) or more—Dose is based on body weight and must be determined by your doctor. The dose is usually 150 micrograms (mcg) per kilogram (kg) of body weight taken as a single dose. The treatment may be repeated every 3 to 12 months. Each tablet contains 3 milligrams (mg) of Ivermectin.
Weighing 85 kg or more—150 mcg/kg of body weight taken as a single dose.
Weighing 65 to 84 kg—4 tablets taken as a single dose.
Weighing 45 to 64 kg—3 tablets taken as a single dose.
Weighing 26 to 44 kg—2 tablets taken as a single dose.
Weighing 15 to 25 kg—1 tablet taken as a single dose.
           Children weighing less than 15 kg—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
 
How To Use Ivermectin?
Take this medication by mouth with a full glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before a meal. Ivermectin is usually taken as a single dose or a series of doses, or as directed by your doctor.
Dosage is based on your weight, medical condition, and response to treatment.
Tell your doctor if your condition lasts or gets worse.
 
Contraindications
No not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in Stromectol.
Possible side effects: the most common effect are diarrhea; dizziness; nausea.
Sever side effects include severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); eye pain, swelling, or redness; fainting; fast heartbeat; fever; joint pain; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; seizures; severe dizziness or lightheadedness; swelling of the skin, arms, legs, ankles, or feet; tender or swollen lymph glands (eg, in the neck, groin, underarms); vision changes; yellowing of the eyes or skin.
Drug interaction
Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:Warfarin because the risk of its side effects may be increased by Stromectol.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact a local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: numbness, tingling, trouble breathing, loss of coordination, seizures.
Storage
Store at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
