About Meftal Tablet 500

Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID's) used for the treatment of pain, inflammation, migraine headache, period pain, heavy bleeding during periods, muscle pain, tooth pain, joint pain, pain after surgery, ear pain, fever, flu, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, causing uncomfortable sensations in the body.

Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's is a combination of two drugs, namely: Mefenamic acid and Paracetamol. Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's blocks the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes other chemical prostaglandins (PG). By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

You can take Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's with or without food. Take Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's as prescribed. You are advised to take Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, heartburn, and diarrhoea in some cases. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not take Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's. Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's is not recommended for children as the safety have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol, and Meftal-Forte Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased dizziness and increase stomach bleeding risk. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
